Commerzbank AG Headquarters Frankfurt am Main
The concept for the 52 floor and 200 meters high building was awarded second prize in an international competition.
The site for the headquarters is located on an inner-city block at the edge of the Frankfurt banking district. Two listed buildings are integrated into the new block-edge development. A diagonally-running walkway connects Kaiserplatz with Große Gallusstraße. The open square in front provides the building with a separate entrance to the underground rail system.
The circular building envelope is completely glazed on both shells of the double skin facade. By support of the double skin façade all areas are naturally ventilated and lighted. Gardens placed opposite to each other act as heat buffer. The floor plan allows the efficient realisation of all office organisation forms.
