Opening of Institute of Mathematics, University of Karlsruhe
On August 26th the University of Karlsruhe held the ceremonial opening for the Institute of Mathematics. The renovation of the existing building resulted in a modern teaching and research institute with seminar rooms and classrooms that accommodate up to 1,000 students. The architectural language expresses transparency, accessibility and open communication – creating a bright and open experience with the atrium and its transparent roof acting as the heart of the building. The Mathematical Institute sets standards for energy efficiency - the completed renovation provides twice the original usable space at half the original energy consumption levels.
