Institute of Mathematics honoured with German University Architecture Award
The remodeled and modernized Institute of Mathematics at the University of Karlsruhe receives the German University Architecture Award 2016. The prize is awarded biannually under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Environment and honours university buildings, which handle building fabrics in an exemplary manner. In cooperation with Meyer architects, ingenhoven architects has refurbished the building architecturally with focus on optimizing energy consumption. It sets new standards in energy efficiency reducing energy consumption by half, whilst simultaneously almost doubling the amount of floor space.
