Conference on the beauty and viability of the city

At the end of april, architects, heads of urban planning departments, urban sociologists, journalists and city historians will discuss in Düsseldorf´s Rheinterrassen the role of the facade in the public space. As part of the 7th conference of beauty and viability of the city, Christoph Ingenhoven will present the facade of the department store of Peek & Cloppenburg located at Lübeck´s historic market place. He will explain the building’s architectural approach. The demolition of two buildings from the fifties had formed a gap in the market square of the medieval city center. It was closed with the completion of the department store in February 2005.
