The architecture provides insights into the heart of democracy, reflecting political activities and serving as a city showcase, visually connecting the inside out and vice versa.
The building acts as a mediating geometry between the rigid edges of Berlin's Federal Ribbon Ensemble and the historical axe as defined by the listed Kesselhaus and the Workshop Building. The deliberate deviation, a geometric break, provides a natural conclusion.
In its spatial configuration, the design bridges the gap between the heterogeneous block composition and the superstructure of the Federal Ribbon. Transparency transforms the volume into an integral and inclusive component of the city, open to all residents and visitors.
