CPO 1 Bligh Sydney
ingenhoven architects designed together with architectus the fit out for the new Sydney Commonwealth Parliament Offices (CPO) located across three levels at 1 Bligh Street, designed by the same team.
Sharon Brigden, NSW State Manager, Ministerial and Parliamentary Services, Department of Finance stated that the architects “fully understood our requirements from very early on and not only delivered a fit out which met our brief to the letter, but completely exceeded our expectations.”
The offices are a unique environment which provide office accommodation for Australian government Ministerial and Parliamentary staff while visiting New South Wales and also provide an important gateway for Parliamentarians when meeting international dignitaries.
The central objective of the design was to create flexible and highly secure office accommodation for public and private uses while fully optimizing the unique qualities of 1 Bligh.
The timeless design was influenced by the unique nature and character of Sydney, drawing inspiration from natural daylight, views to the harbor, transparency, coastal form and local materials.
The CPO comprises suites for the Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition and other federal Ministers, along with conference and meeting spaces, media and press rooms and associated facilities.
Through the team’s detailed understanding and knowledge of 1 Bligh’s base building design, also the fit out has been designed to achieve a 6 Star Green Star Office Interiors v1.1 rating
