The catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name, which was shown at the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin from June 22 to August 1, 1999. The publication focuses on Stuttgart main railway station—the prototype of a new generation of stations; the subtle integration of high-speed tracks in the city landscape, light-tech construction, beauty, and elegance determine the character of this railway station. Ecology, economy, and technology are just as much integrated components as comfort and safety. The Bonatz building and main railway station become the core of the "Stuttgart 21" city development project and join the old and new parts of the city. The project and the current design status are explained in the publication using sketches, photographs, and models.
