Fritz Höger Prize for Brick Architecture 2017, Best Refurbishment Project, Special Mention for Wooden Silo in Düsseldorf
The 2017 Fritz Höger Prize for Brick Architecture was awarded by the Building with Brick Initiative to honor architects who use the potential of this traditional building material to create contemporary and timeless buildings. In this context, "brick" stands for all kinds of building blocks made of fired clay, including clinker bricks and facing bricks. The Fritz Höger Prize for Brick Architecture, which was first established in 2008, is awarded every three years and, with over 500 national and international entrants in 2017, has now become one of the largest German architectural awards. The wooden silo project in Düsseldorf by ingenhoven architects was awarded "Best Refurbishment Project, Special Mention" by the jury.
