Dipl.-Ing. [FH] Architect, Director
After completing his studies in architecture at the Trier University of Applied Sciences, Rudolf Jonas has worked for ingenhoven architects since 1991.
As a project director, Rudolf Jonas has been responsible for the design and realisation of numerous projects, with the focus on planning multi-tenant buildings for private investors. The SkyOffice in Düsseldorf, which was completed in 2009, was just one such project. The 23-storey high-rise office building is characterized by a highly-efficient floor plan. The energy-optimized compact double façade has been designed to allow for natural ventilation while maintaining very low construction depths.
In addition, Rudolf Jonas has planned and realised construction projects contracting authorities with a strong focus on research and development. In 2014, the Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovoltaics CSP in Halle an der Saale was completed.
Moreover, Rudolf Jonas has dealt with issues concerning building in existing listed buildings. Examples of projects worthy of mention include the refurbishment of the American Consulate General in Düsseldorf, as well as the redevelopment and revitalization of a former mill located in the Düsseldorf harbour area, covering an area of approximately 32,000 square meters.
From 2004 to 2009, the construction of the New Hamburg Trade Fair, covering an area of 160,000 square meters, was carried out under the leadership of Rudolf Jonas. He accompanied the project from the tendering process, the design and realisation phase, right up to the handover to the responsible party.
Following the completion of housing projects around the inner harbour of Duisburg, Rudolf Jonas is currently working on a challenging project for the upmarket residential area in Düsseldorf to name but a few.
