Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Architect, Architect ARB (UK), Director
As Director at ingenhoven architects, Bjørn Polzin is jointly responsible for the new construction of Stuttgart main railway station. Having completed his architectural studies at Aachen University of Applied Sciences, he joined the Düsseldorf office in 1999. Between 1999 and 2004 his projects included the Sky Office and Speditionsstrasse 17 in Düsseldorf, Stuttgart main railway station, and the Uptown Building—the highest high-rise office development in Munich, which is home to the O2 head office.
From 2004 to 2009, Bjørn Polzin worked as Associate for Foster + Partners, initially in London, where he was involved with the design of the Winspear Opera House in Dallas. In 2005 he moved to the USA, where he supported the project to its completion in 2009. As Project Manager, he was responsible for the implementation of the project on site and for liaising with Spencer de Grey (F+P) in London.
During his time in the USA he took part in juries and competitions and supported the organization of "The Art of Architecture" exhibition by F+P.
In 2010, he returned to Germany to join ingenhoven architects as Project Manager. In 2016 he was appointed Director
In the course of his professional career Bjørn Polzin has worked on numerous different projects, such as office and commercial buildings, residential estates, shopping malls, cultural buildings, and infrastructure projects, covering all phases from outline design to completion.
